Course Description:
In this course, we will explore the basic principles of Taoism and its impact on Chinese medicine practice. The emergence of disease prevention, the emphasis on longevity medicine, and the ethics of managing physician behavior are all found in the roots of Taoist teaching. We will also study the origins of public health and immunization related to early Taoist thinking.
This course includes a survey of three founding doctors - Ge Hong, Dao Zang and Sun Siwei - who combine religion and science, the emergence of disease prevention, and the focus of TCM ethics and character development.
After completing this course, practitioners will:
• Access to functional insights in food therapy, healthy ageing and treatment of chronic diseases
• An in-depth understanding of herbal treatment strategies that are simple, economical, and efficient, and are the guiding principles of clinical practice.
