Martial arts - it's all about basics

Ask any professional how to excel in their martial arts skills and they will tell you to practice. Ask them what they have practiced, and you are likely to hear "basic knowledge" or "basic knowledge."

I have interviewed 13 great martial artists. What bothers me is that each of them is talking about how their earliest mentor became a traditionalist and let them learn the basics. In other words, what makes them happy is that they spend their time on the basis.

It is regrettable now that half of them did not teach them what they claimed to make them better. They entered the flash and shortcuts. Although this is good for them, it is not good for their students. Keep in mind that shortcuts are only part of the action, but most actions are made up of many parts that can lead to shortcuts. There are no shortcuts to go. They look good when a master takes shortcuts, but when a student only learns shorts, they look bad.

Practice your foundation and I promise that interesting things will be better, faster and more practical. Basic knowledge - situation and form. If you are taught quality, then they are worth it. If the form is just composed, it can teach you bad training habits that are difficult to overcome. There is no excuse, if you want to master your art and your body then these should be perfect.

Posture: Horse, bow, front, cat, high back and back. They should be low and comfortable so that you can move in different directions while maintaining level. Moreover, the lower your position, the more stable you are.

Kick the ball: front side, back side and side kick. These should be controlled and very smooth.

Blocks: high rise, down, outer block, front punch, back hand and vertical punch. If these are perfect, your training can begin

The above list applies to all major muscle groups as well as all major defensive and offensive directions. If you just have the perfect foundation, you can master most of the artworks. No matter whether they use those actions or not. The reason is simple. Once you have mastered your body, you can do anything. A new style of martial arts is like learning a new dance. This can be challenging, but not impossible.
