Martial arts and self-defense

Martial arts and self-defense are completely different. I will never disrespect any fighting style. Different styles basically have different uses.

I recommend that you study all types of martial arts and self-defense, and make sure that the one you choose meets your criteria; traditional style, athletics, fitness, home entertainment or effective self-defense.

Watch some martial arts and self-defense courses, see your own ideas, and talk to the coach. If you want self-defense, make sure they use most of the coaching for real-life training.

Let's take a look at some of the differences between martial arts and self-defense.

Many martial arts and self-defense styles have become sports systems, including pre-arranged moves and one-step techniques. This is a far cry from their expectations.

Traditional style often condemns Kata's large amount of time, which is a series of techniques. They involve speed, strength, great stability and flexibility, and are an excellent training aid, but they provide little help in actual self-defense. Many styles are not prepared for you when an attacker comes into close contact or takes you to the ground, as these may not be the technology allowed by a particular style rule.

In the street attack, there is no preparation time, anything will happen!

Imagine two competitors in the tournament, they are ready for weeks and are in good health. Let's take the referee along with the rules he's been there, and now everything goes well, they're not limited to the actions they take for granted. Take away gloves, foot pads, head gear, groin protectors and mouth guards. Remove the mat and replace it with concrete, add brick walls and remove the lighting. Take away those who may be ready to jump into and anyone else, because one person goes beyond the unconscious.

Change the environment to the back alley, back alley, kitchen, bedroom and even the lounge, let us provide all the weapons in these environments: glass, steel, screwdrivers, knives and anything else at your fingertips.

Change the odds and replace the other fighter with another, weighing 50 pounds. It is no longer a game, changing the attacker to two or more.

Many experienced students succeed in street fights, mainly because they need to think. Preparation is not designed for the street.

Hollywood is a hero that uses a series of ingenious techniques to deal with many attackers with a variety of weapons, which often makes the violence even better. Far from the reality of blood, terrible, dirty, often end in death. Fortunate survivors may eventually have a fracture, facial smashing or any serious injury, often resulting in persistent physical and mental scars.

On the street, the attacker never read the rules and attacks in amazement and embarrassment, and he did not carelessly choose the victim he knew the least. In most cases, the attack is not an orthodox confrontation, but is more likely a blind attack.

If you are in a real situation, you must practice in some way. Without repetition and two inches of distance from the target, this repetition may become part of your reaction.

Instead, use some serious padding to allow a full blow. Don't let your training partners stay compliant and build a true level.

One of the biggest differences between martial arts and self-defense is simplicity. In order to be effective in actual situations, the technology cannot be complicated. Under high pressure, most people simply can't do anything beyond the big motor skills, which is a simple body movement.

Martial arts and self-defense courses are no better than the other, they are just different and suitable for different situations.
