CO嗨Steve, thank you for agreeing to participate in this interview.
SC is my honor.
Can you tell me some of your own and your sports background first?
SC Ok, my name is Steve and I am Capricorn, my life is very interesting! I have a family, three children, and I live in San Diego, California. I have been involved in physical exercise throughout my life. When I was a child, I was very active. When I was 12 years old, I moved from the East Coast to California to participate in traditional martial arts training, Chinese martial arts, which really became the focus of my 12-year-old life. Until about 26 years old. I am teaching in professional, many different people, youth programs, Tai Chi programs, seniors, adult martial arts, this day is really a day all day. After I participated in the art of 7 or 8 years, I began to participate in the full-contact and comprehensive contact fighting competitions of the states, and achieved very good success, and I and my school. We participated in the national competition, I personally won two American national championships, full contact with Kung Fu fighting, sports Kuoshu, this is a kind of sports, just like fighting in a ring without a route. A few years ago, a film by Jean-Claude Van Dame called Bloodsport, which depicts this traditional sport, they call it the Leitai battle; lei is a platform. Therefore, in terms of formal training, this is my main sports background, mainly martial arts and a part of full contact with the battle. My martial arts training also includes a lot of meditation and qigong, which is a part of deep breathing. In addition, I did some Chinese medicine, bone positioning, massage and so on. I also learned about the use of certain herbal tinctures and tinctures.
CO cool. This sounds like an incredible foundation. So how did you get into the kettlebell training?
SC, in 1996, I changed my mind from full-time teaching of martial arts and decided that this is not the rest of my life. I don't want to do my career and career anymore; I have seen that people sometimes change when they participate in this business. And I will lose my love for art and I don't want this to happen to me, so I decided to continue to teach martial arts with passion but let my money be in a different way. So when I started college, I was interested in this question, so I answered your question about kettlebells. After my third year college students, I noticed that my conditioning began to deteriorate. I changed from a world to a world every day. The class athletes who are training, he is a person with a backpack but no training at all. I don't like the changes my body has made. So I really want to go back to the elite type of conditioning, but I no longer have time or tilt to train all day, and I have not participated in the martial arts community, so I really like the way I am and I am looking for My fitness level has improved to a very high level, but it can be done in less time. I suddenly realized that I had to learn to do the same amount of work or a lot of work in a shorter time and use my time more intelligently. There is a saying that when the student is ready, the teacher will appear, so you can say that the kettle bell has appeared. This is a way to teach me how to use time more effectively and achieve a high level of fitness.
I met a kettlebell in the martial arts catalog. When they talked about using the body as a whole, they were very interested in me. For martial artists and military sports, how free it is, so this is for me. Very meaningful. At first I was a bit banned because I didn't have any money, so the kettlebell was too expensive for me, but after a few months of investigation I finally decided I had a chance to try them. Once I tried it, I was fascinated. Take out the money to buy some kettlebells. I started training myself in 2002 using Pavel [Tsatsouline]'s first kettlebell DVD, which is the beginning. Then I started to combine the kettlebell with personal training. I started professional training and achieved good results. I really went back to a higher fitness level. I like the feeling and dynamic expression of it. It is from It started there.
CO is excellent. What do you think is unique about kettlebell training?
SC has a few main things. On the one hand, more traditional training programs tend to separate different energy systems, so the usual formula is that people exercise resistance training for two to three days a week, then they will perform cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary breathing exercises, aerobic exercise, and separate And even need to be flexible, so these types of things take a lot of time. So one of the unique things about kettlebells is that it really combines these aspects into one protocol, so you can use one tool for resistance training, cardio-pulmonary function and a range of motion treatments, even one exercise or just some movements.
CO is good. So I recently took part in a certification course in Edinburgh, Scotland. By the way, this course is great! What made you create IKFF, who is it?
SC I have always liked teaching. Since I was 15 years old, I started teaching. At that time, I began to teach martial arts professionally, so I had the opportunity to teach different people from different backgrounds. I like to guide them in front of the group. My enthusiasm is the entire sports culture, so I did have many years of teaching experience before I came to the kettlebell. After a few years of participating in the kettlebell, I developed some DVDs, and then I came into contact with a martial arts DVD manufacturer who was interested in developing a comprehensive kettlebell DVD called "Kcytlebell Lifting Encyclopedia" once I did My visibility began to increase and I became more famous. I was able to sell my DVDs in various international markets. Therefore, I got various inquiries by email from those who asked if I would provide my own certification, and gave me good feedback on the teaching methods I provided on the DVD. So this is the seed that really makes people interested. However, it took me a few years to finally come up with IKFF. I finally came up with the reasons for IKFF. I want to be very honest about the certification process. There are many different certificates in all industries, and there is no difference in fitness. Many times I think certification is just a way to charge more money to the same person. And called certification, they can charge more than they didn't call certification. So I originally researched the creation of certification because I think this is not the reason for doing something. I don't hate money, but I do hate using people. I haven't seen it for a long time because I am already teaching and have already started a seminar. However, as time went on, the investigation still existed. I found that the existing kettlebell certificate course is lacking in member support. For those who are running the program, it seems to exist for their benefit, but for those who are Fitness professionals who pay for the course are still on their own and do not really have the support they need to develop their professional interests. So this is one of the main reasons for launching IKFF, I hope it will become a member-centric, member-based member, not just about myself and my success, but really helping individuals build their own Career doing their thing I like and try to build a federation that can support their development in this area. Another reason is simple. I realize that I am getting more and more interested in kettlebell certification. I think I can do better than those who have already done it, so I feel that I will be certified anyway. I am very good at providing certification because I feel that I have long-term benefits and are doing very well.
The reason I came up with the name of the International Kettle Fitness Federation is that I want it to be international. This is a global effort. I think the world has changed. We are no longer confined to our local market. The Internet does Make this possible. The K representing the kettlebell is clearly a major part of our project; F means that fitness and kettlebells are clearly an integral part of the federal final F, which actually means it focuses on the members themselves. IKFF's design can not only be a high-quality kettlebell coach training program, but also a comprehensive plan that expresses my complete experience and the overall approach I believe to train my body spirit through kettlebells and other protocols; Qigong And martial arts, joint mobility and flexibility, as well as body control through weight adjustment. So this is the five aspects of my pillow, fitness and happiness. They are actually the meaning of IKFF.
CO of course. One of the things that fascinated me when I took part in your course was...
