Many tourists like to visit Kuching City, which is known as the Cat City in Sarawak, Malaysia. Some visitors recommend where to go, watch and experience according to the Lonely Planet guide. There is nothing better than a way to experience the city through the advice of locals.
1. After checking in at the hotel in the morning, head to Kuching City for a tour. If you take one of the guided tours, the tour will take you to the top of the Civic Center and enjoy panoramic views of the Kuching city skyline. The Sarawak Museum learns about the history of the past and then sails through the huge cat monument. Many tourists will stop to take pictures. If you come during the Lunar New Year, you can see cats wearing traditional Chinese clothing. If you come here during the Ramadan celebration of Muslims celebrating Hari Raya, the cat will wear green Malay costumes. You can also take a trip to the Kuching South City Council, drive through Chinatown, visit the ancient Taoist temples in Sarawak, the Catholic Church, cross the Malay village, and then visit the Old State Mosque with five golden domes.
Next, you will go to the famous Sarawak pottery factory. If you visit in the morning, you may have the opportunity to see skilled workers engraving lights, vases, etc. Then, the tour will end at the Kuching waterfront where most of the former colonial buildings are located.
3. Next, you will go to Waterfront or Gambier Road to buy souvenirs. You might even want some antiques that you want to buy home.
In the afternoon, visit the Semenggoh Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center. You may need a guided tour or travel agency to check the feeding time of these orangutans so that you can catch them.
5. You will then return to the city to have dinner at the Topspot Seafood Restaurant. There are several seafood centres to choose from. The dishes you must order are fried in the middle, the local bush fern fried belacan, a shrimp paste, bamboo chop fried curry powder and oyster pancakes.
6. The next day, you will enjoy the famous Sarawak Laksa breakfast. You can easily find a stall to sell them at any coffee shop in the city. The food is very spicy. If you can't eat spicy food, then it is recommended that you eat Sarawak kolok mee for breakfast.
Then you will depart to the Sarawak Cultural Village and spend the whole morning there. It is an hour's drive from the city and it is recommended to take the shuttle bus to get there. You can buy a shuttle service ticket at the entrance of the Grand Margherita Hotel. Otherwise, you can easily consult the hotel receptionist. When you arrive at the Sarawak Cultural Village, please visit the houses of various nationalities and don't miss the cultural performances. You should return to the city at noon.
Then you will eat fried tomato noodles at lunch. This is a speciality that is only available in Sarawak.
9. Next, you can choose a blind masseur next to the Mc Donald exit opposite the Grand Margherita Hotel for a foot massage. The service is not expensive.
Then you go to any of the excellent city restaurants in Kuching to eat. Some of the restaurants I recommend are Jambu Air, Magenta and several others.
After a night of food, you will return to the hotel and fly home the next day.
