DIY Winnie the Pooh Keychain

Making your own do-it-yourself Winnie the Pooh hard plastic keychain charm is a great project that parents and their children can do together. Upon completion, you will have a sturdy, transparent, waterproof Vinnie plastic charm that you can use as a keychain, Christmas ornaments, as part of a hanging cell phone, luggage tag, necklace or earring pendant or anything else. Imagination can dream.

This is what you need:

A large piece of transparent #6 plastic [polystyrene]

Fine tip permanent mark [black]

Color permanent mark [the yellow and red of the Pooh bear]

Scissors

Tape

Use kitchen oven and oven gloves

Aluminum foil

Drill bit

Keychain or string

The first piece of transparent #6 plastic [polystyrene]. This can be easily identified by looking up the recycle symbol. The #6 in the triangle means you are very happy. The transparent cover for take-out food trays is usually made of #6 plastic. Next, find the photo of Winnie the Pooh for use on the Internet. Download the appropriate photo and print it on plain paper. Please note that the reduction of the final product is approximately three to four times smaller than the starting image, so keep this in mind.

Cut #6 plastic to make your tablet slightly larger than the image. Paste the image onto the plastic plate. Use a fine-pointed black permanent marker to track the contours of Pooh and all his functions - eyes, nose, eyebrows, mouth, shirts, etc. Fill his dark features like eyes and nose. Once he is tracked, fill his shirt with a yellow marker to fill his fur and red mark. Next, remove the tape from the paper image and cut the plastic into the shape you want [rectangular, oval, etc.]

Move the oven rack all the way down to the bottom. Place the aluminum foil on the rack.

Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Once the oven is ready, use the oven gloves to place the plastic image on the aluminum foil and close the door.

In the first minute or so, your art will begin to curl and shrink. It looks very interesting! Then it should start to flatten soon. After about three and a half minutes, your image should be completed. Using oven gloves, carefully remove the aluminum foil from the oven.

Your plastic charm is still very hot and can be kept for about 10 seconds before cooling. If it's not completely flat, you can smooth it by placing a large flat object like a book. Or, if you like, you can bend and shape your art. But work quickly before cooling.

After the charm cools, drill a small hole in the top of the chain. Connect the chain and you are done. You just created your own Winnie the Pooh hard plastic keychain charm! These provide a great gift for Winnie the Pooh enthusiasts and can even be used as a baby shower party.
