Good quality cleaning wipes must be used when starting car detailing or repairing projects. But there are so many different available, which one is best for this job? Well, it depends on a few different factors. First of all, what are you doing? Painting appearance? Clean the interior? Is the car wash dry? Second, do you want a disposable rag or can you reapply it again and again to add value? Third, do you have a budget? Below I will break down some different types of materials and their locations related to the three issues above.
Paper/non-woven wiperfrom

 - These disposable cloths are usually made from some combination of wood pulp, cellulose, polyester and rayon fibers. These fibers are entangled together by different methods, such as spraying water or rotating with air or by compression bonding. Wypall and Brawny are different brand names for non-woven wipers that you may be familiar with, but many unbranded brands also perform well. In most cases, the paper/nonwoven wiper will be used internally for details.
Spunlace- from

This is a very very strong nonwoven. Its main advantage is that it is very lint-free and will not break when using harsh chemicals. It is water absorbing, but in most cases it is not very soft. It is also at the upper end of the price standard [approximately 0.08 or 0.09 cents for the 12" x 13" table.
DRC- from

Drc is the most common nonwoven because it provides everything. It is soft and absorbent. It is not as strong or lint-free as a spunlace, but it has more general-purpose wiping and cleaning applications and is in good condition with most everyday cleaning chemicals. It is also at the lower end of the price scale [12" x 13" sheets are about 0.04-0.05 cents.
Scrim- from

This non-woven wiper takes 4 layers of tissue and holds them together using a nylon thread or a scrim network. It is quite lint-free, but not strong at all. It absorbs fine but thin and does not hold large amounts of liquid. Its main purpose is to perform stripe-free wiping on surfaces such as glass. It is also at the lower end of the price scale [0.05 to 0.06 cents for 9" x 17"].
Cotton cloth - from

These cleaning wipes can be disposable or rewashed again and again. They are either from recycled clothes and linen, all decorations such as buttons, zippers, etc. are cut and then cut into pieces of fragment size [usually 12" x 12" - 24" x 24"]. The advantage of cotton is their absorption capacity and strength.
Color knitting - from

These cottons come from cut recycled T-shirts. They are mainly used for cleaning greases and other very delicate work. Since they have been cut, they cannot be washed again because the edges will wear and unravel. In addition, because they are recycled, you cannot guarantee the cotton content, but it is usually very high. Colored knitwear is not very lint-free and is at the lower end of the price class [about 0.3-0.04 cents per wiper, the size will vary]
Terry Bar Towel - from

These are new and are 100% cotton. They are divided into A or B. The rating is that each piece has exactly the same size and weight without defects. They can all be white or have colored stripes in the center for color coding. If the towel has flaws, such as a broken needle during knitting, and the towel is missing or there are stains on the towel, such as the oil on the knitting machine, put these towels in Class B. Class B is still new and 100% cotton, but you can't accurately choose what you get [for example, every green stripe or all towels weigh 28 ounces per ton]. You get what you get, but pay a cheaper price. Terry Bar Towels are absorbent, durable and have edging on all sides, so you can re-wash them many times to add value. These towels are good for both the inside and outside of the car, but leave some lint. [The 16-inch x 19-inch B-Class Terry Bar towel is priced at about 25 cents, and each towel weighs 35.60 cents, depending on the weight of each A-grade.]
    Huck Towel - from

Huck towels, sometimes called surgical towels, are a very good choice. They can be either new or recycled, but the shape of the recycling is very good, because hospitals can only use them several times in order to get rid of them. They are 16" x 24", 100% cotton with pleats on all sides. They are extremely absorbent and durable and can be washed for many years. Due to their very tight, flat weave, they are very lint-free to cotton and leave no streaks. Many window cleaning companies use Huck towels. Suitable for almost all internal and external tasks. Wash the car with a towel to clean and dry the car. Huck towels are also available in a variety of colors. [The recycling price is 0.25-0.3 cents each, and the new price is 65-80 cents each].
Microfiber towel - from

Microfibers are the latest trend in wiper technology. Single strands are 1/100 of the size of a human hair. The microfibers are made of 80% polyester and 20% polyamide. Polyester makes the wiper not only strong, but also lint-free, while polyamide gives the wiper absorbability. The microfibers can be washed multiple times to obtain additional values. Microfiber towels are also available in a variety of styles. Terry Microfiber Towels are suitable for all general cleaning, especially indoors. They are very soft and absorbent. Waffle woven microfibers have a special texture and are ideal for drying cars. Glass microfibers are specifically designed for stripe-free clean glass, windows, etc... Microfibers act as "magnets" and attract dust between fibers rather than pushing dust and dirt. Microfibers are not scratched and come in a variety of colors for color coding. [Depending on the style and size, microfibers can range from 0.75 cents to 16 inches x 16 inch terry cloth microfiber to greater than $3.00 waffle fabric.]
Tack Cloths- from

Adhesive cloth is a special type of wipe cloth with a tacky resin on top of a polyester or cotton cheesecloth substrate. The cheesecloth adhesive cloth not only absorbs the resin between the cotton fibers but also absorbs the resin of the fiber itself. A disadvantage of cheesecloth sticky cloths is that they can catch sharp objects or burrs and leave fibers. Polyester adhesive cloths retain the resin only between the fibers, but are very strong and woven in such a way that the material does not obstruct or operate. Either way, the viscous fabric is designed for pre-painting or for exterior preparation on the vehicle. The resin on the adhesive cloth absorbs dust or dirt particles from the body and does not transfer to the prepared object. This keeps the surface clean for proper lacquering [sticky fabrics for 9" x 18" polyester viscous fabrics can range from .30 cents to approximately 60 cents for individually wrapped cheesecloths].
As you can see, there are many factors to consider and have many options when deciding to use a suitable wipe for car detailing and repair. There are many other rags that may be a viable option for you and those listed above.
