L.A. There are many things to offer. The City of Angels is always on the road, seemingly driven by glitz and charm. If you are willing to fight traffic, you will find some of the best restaurants, shopping and attractions in the world - from studio tours to museums, from beaches to marinas.
L.A. is the epitome of big, bold and beautiful - most of the hobbies in this town are in the "scene". So if you already have your own beach share, head to the inland touring the star-studded Sunset Strip or Melrose Avenue - and watch your eyes! Since restaurants and bars bring a lot of social activity, if you want to keep up with those cool kids, you'd better take a break in the afternoon.
Remember: the stars appear at night - after all, this is Los Angeles. The town seems to glisten after sunset... you can rock on Sunset Boulevard, or at the Hollywood Club. So if you like your bar cool, your martinis are dry, your restaurant is delicious, make sure your wallet, your appetite and your energy night Hollywood style town.
Below are our in-house guides to learn about some of the best restaurants and nightlife options. Know this: When someone stupidly suggested that we limit the journey of L.A. to 10 restaurants and 10 bars, there was a battle between our editors. We have a lot of fun in Tinseltown and we have to choose 15 in each category. Of course, when we tried to assign numbers to all of these hotspots, another battle took place - letting the cool minds prevail, we have cancelled the rankings.
Make sure one thing... all 30 of these places are amazing and need your own A game. Maybe even after a night in town, you will understand why even business people think that "star partners" look so real...
Bar and nightlife
1. Derby: (Los Angeles Felice) "The Swinger" wants to see Vince Vaughn or Jon Favreau join the swing fans in this more popular dance hall. With 1940 decorations, live music (seven nights a week) and dance lessons, your entire team will explode! For reference only: In May 2006, Derby was named a historical/cultural landmark by the Los Angeles City Council. Located at 4500 Los Feliz Blvd. (and Hillhurst Avenue).
2. LAX: (Hollywood) We have been introduced to DJ AM by Nicole Ritchie - but he doesn't need to introduce it now! DJ AM (a.k.a Adam Golstein), known as one of the most popular DJs, opened this premier airport-themed lounge for all Los Angeles jet makers. This destination hotspot is located in the heart of Hollywood and has mirrors in the shape of airplane windows and metal hangar doors. The dance floor often becomes narrow (similar to dancing in the cabin), but it's a bit fun in the Miles Premium Club! LAX is located at 1714 Las Palmas Avenue. (and Hollywood Boulevard).
3. Forty Deuce: (Melros) This small modern car park opposite the Paramount Pictures has now become a retro cool lounge, reminiscent of the underground bar of the 1920s. Living room style seats, funny performances (str. jazz band rhythm) and exquisite cocktails make Hollywood people happy and party until the closing time. Located at 5574 Melrose Ave. (Dr. Beachwood).
4. Barney's Beanery: (West Hollywood) At L.A., most people think that with age, nothing can get better. But the city's third oldest restaurant (8444 Santa Monica Blvd Street, near La Cienaga Avenue) managed to prove that everyone in Hollywood was wrong. Since its opening nearly 90 years ago, it has attracted celebrities to the regular Joe Shmoes, who are eager to enjoy delicious and comfortable food (you can choose 150 different burgers, 65 kinds of peppers and 90 kinds of omelettes). Although many people may refer to this as "diving," food and cheap drinks make this Beanery jump every night. (Make sure you bring your I.D. - even Johnny Drama has been sent here recently!).
5. Stone Rose Lounge: (West Hollywood) This recently opened Los Angeles version of the New York nightclub is redone at the Sofitel Hotel (located at 8555 Beverly Avenue, near La Cienaga Avenue). Young stars (and guys who want them) have a 5,000 square foot lounge and outdoor patio. While this is not your usual nightlife scene in Los Angeles, this laid-back atmosphere, exquisite martinis and outside fire pit cabins are well worth a visit.
6. Social Hollywood: (Hollywood) What's new! Once a huge Hollywood sports club, this place now has a lounge, restaurant, playroom with PlayStations and Xboxes, a screening room and a private club. The Moroccan-style venue offers powerful food and a social scene to win cool kids. Located at 6526 Sunset Blvd. (in Schrader Boulevard).
7. Sky Bar: The Sky Bar has been rated as one of the most popular nightclub spots in Los Angeles since its opening, open and airy, allowing you to feel floating above the clouds at Mondrian Hotel (8440 Sunset Blvd) . ). Have all the most beautiful views of Los Angeles (as well as trees, pools and candlelights) and the most fashionable cities - please don't let long lines and bodyguards stop you. If you do pass the red tape, don't stare at the big guy who often appears on the US weekly and people's pages!
8. Formosa Cafe: (West Hollywood) This Chinese-themed dimly lit hotspot is a classic area (as the location of the movie LA Confidential) with red leather stalls and a bar that serves Intoxicating powerful martini. Formosa is known as one of the puddles of the film industry, with the autograph of a Hollywood star on the wall (you might even be lucky to see Bono or Beck in one of the booths). Drinks are better than dinner (and make sure you wear parts to avoid the hassle at the door). Formosa Cafe is located at 7156 Santa Monica Blvd. (between La Brea and Formosa Ave.).
9. Privilege: (West Hollywood) Madonna is not the only one who knows how to reinvent himself. Nightlife master Sam Nazarian knows very much about remodeling. Before its new look and name, the club was called a Gothic playground called Shelter, a Nordic lounge, a Saint-Tropez-style resort and a simulated construction site. Now, Privilege is a white white oasis with the feel of a South Beach resort (no humidity and sand between the toes). Saturday is tough because Brent Bolthouse (the godfather of celebrity activities) hosts parties here - so if you can, choose a weekday visit. Unless of course, you can find your name on the guest list or see your name through the earbuds security guard. Privelege is located at 8117 W. Sunset Blvd. (and Crescent Heights Blvd.).
10. Guy's Bar: (West Hollywood) Have you ever thought about where the stars went to karaoke? You can find people like Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Ritchie in this warm and unique WeHo club. Guy's is a simple, easy sofa that is used primarily for private industry related events. However, try this place on a Saturday night (the initiator runs), when the door policy is a little more relaxed (yes, it does show some legs!). Guy's Bar is located at 8713 Beverly Blvd.
11. Tropicana Bar: (Hollywood) Old Hollywood at the Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles meets New Hollywood - where you can see the stars walking on the outdoor terrace, with a 60s ambiance, comfortable luxury seating and glowing Swimming pool. The bar is a typical trendy union and is also a tropical oasis with neon-lit palm trees, private bungalows, fireplaces and linen covered loungers. If you are not in the mood to elbow with the night fashionista/glamourista crowd, the Tropicana Bar is ideal for a sunny CA afternoon. Don't forget to pay attention to the David Hockney blue wave mural at the bottom of the 7000 Hollywood Boulevard pool.
12. Bar: (Hollywood) More than just bars and bars! This place is easy to miss and is located between a gas station and a dilapidated hotel (5851 Sunset Blvd. and Bronson Ave.). But those who find one of Hollywood's most popular renovation puddles will see newly renovated excavations and eye-catching customers. On some days you will hear the sound of a rock-and-roll jukebox exploding Ramones, and on other days you will find that the local DJ is spinning old and new pop music. For those who feel like a cigarette, some air or just a break, you can put your way into the smoking lane along the bamboo forest.
13. Emotion: (Hollywood) This 6,500-square-foot former office building is located at 6623 Hollywood Boulevard. It has turned into a tropical Eden - think about the South Pacific! The club's Balinese design features sensual color/texture and flesh trumpet and Bongo drummers, accompanied by hip hop and rap sounds you will hear. Stored with exotic treasures made of bamboo, batik and wood carvings, Mood attracts sexy young Hollywood socialites and other glitz and glamour from Tinseltown.
14. Lounge: (West Hollywood) Ok, so here is the trough... This sexy Miami Beach style club attracts a large crowd, its border location (WeHo and Beverly Hills) and open policy. The lounge has a main room with a bar and dance floor and a spiral staircase leading to a stylish lounge area filled with comfortable stalls and table service. DJ is here to spin the dance party to hip hop, R&B and family music collections. The lounge is located at 9077 Santa Monica Boulevard. (And Dr. Doheny).
15. Key Club: (West Hollywood) Key Club is one of WeHo's most popular attractions, with state-of-the-art live music venues (located at 9039 Sunset Blvd. and Doheny Dr.) with futuristic audio, video and lighting technology. . . The VIP area downstairs is called the Plush Lounge and is usually crowded with the Hollywood "It" crowd. There is also a full restaurant and menu on the second floor (booking a table, this is the secret that actually enters on a busy night). The Key Club has several bars and offers a wide range of drinks for you to enjoy - this is the perfect place to start or end the evening on Sunset Boulevard.
