With more than 1,300 species of trees worldwide, Acacia is an exotic hardwood that grows in tropical and temperate climates throughout Europe, Australia, Africa, Asia and the Americas. About 960 were found in mainland Australia alone. Around the world, acacia trees are known as "thorn trees", "whistling" and "thorns."
According to the Exodus, Acacia was used to build the arc of the covenant. The Bible also mentions a "Sitah tree", which means "Acacia" in Hebrew. In addition to the sacred architecture, Acacia is also used in a variety of ways - hardwood floors, perfumes, paints, medicines, and even chewing gum!
Despite its biblical and versatile nature, you can't find many hardwood flooring manufacturers that produce acacia. LM Flooring has four different acacia products in its Kendall Exotics collection, while Johnson Flooring has an amazing caramel and cream candy-rotating floor, the Carnaval Collection, called Carnaval Lava Wood.
However, the most amazing Acacia I have ever seen is from the Nature Engineered World of Exotics and its natural acacia. The strong color of this wood ranges from light cream to golden yellow, all of which rotate with the sparkle of the glitter, making this wooden floor an absolute gem!
Five-inch-thick wood panels contrast these colors. Although the edges of a piece of wood may have apricot gold, the adjacent boards have almost white stripes mixed with bronze gold. It's something you can only believe in, and it's very affordable, at $4.19 per square foot.
When purchasing Acacia, you first need to apply for a sample. Some wood cuts and types may be a bit bleak, such as Acacia heterophylla from Reunion Island, while Acacia koa from the Hawaiian Islands is rich in hot bronze and red tones. If you want a red hue, be sure to get the heartwood, which will provide the most rich tones. Acacia trees from the East, sometimes referred to as "Chinese walnuts", have a more brown color. Most of them can be reinforced or fixed with pigments.
If you are interested in buying acacia hardwood flooring, it is best to consult a hardwood flooring dealer instead of LM flooring, Johnson flooring and natural flooring. This way you have multiple samples of this rare floor option for comparison. But in fact, when it comes to acacia, no other hardwood can be compared. It is so beautiful!
