Frenzy on the Fox

Frenzy on the Fox
On Friday, January 13, the City of Green Bay Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department will host a new winter event, Frenzy on the Fox. This untimed event includes a 5k walk/run at 7:00 p.m. and a 10k bike at 8:00 p.m. Start and finish are located on the CityDeck at the Pine Street Landing, and the route follows along the Fox River Trail.

Participants will receive a swag bag, winter hat, and glow trinkets. This event is a collaborative effort of local businesses and organizations coming together. The Broken Spoke Bike Studio is offering 30 free bike rentals to those who sign up and call to reserve a bike. The Creamery is offering free hot chocolate for all participants to warm up with after the event. Other sponsors include: Prevea Health, Green Bay Bicycle Collective, and Festival Foods. Organizations supporting the development of this event include: Downtown Green Bay Inc., On Broadway Inc., Live54218, The Village of Allouez, Brown County, and the Wisconsin Bike Fed.

Registration is only .00 now through December 30, at 11:45 a.m., when it then increases to .00 through the event day on Friday, January 13. Packet pick-up and registration takes place inside Broken Spoke starting at 5:00 p.m.

Having the Fox River Trail plowed this winter promotes healthy lifestyles by encouraging people to be active and get outside, so this event is a perfect way to support that as well. Frenzy on the Fox is an event stemming from the FIT in the Parks initiative created by the Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department to provide health and wellness opportunities in the community.

Come out to be a part of Frenzy on the Fox at the CityDeck and Fox River Trail on Friday, January 13, 2017.
