Beginner Digital Photography - dot-art at the Bluecoat Tuesdays 6-8pm starting 3nd May 2016 (£175 for 10 sessions) Develop your photography skills over this 10 week course, covering the basics of digital cameras, an overview of exposure and composition and practical workshops around the beautiful surroundings of Ness Gardens.  Photography is an ever evolving practice of technical craft and creative flair. The basis of a good image lies i combining both the art and science. During this course we will aim to balance the theory with practical. Don't forget your camera! Theory  In the classroom environment we will cover the basics of Exposure and Composition. • Understanding digital files • Exposure values. Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO • Sensor Metering • Lens Focal Length • Crop Factor • Rule of Thirds Practical In the local environment of Ness Gardens we will practice capturing People and Place. • Portraits (natural and staged) • Urban Landscape (wide and details) • Street Photography (combining people in place) This course allows anyone with the desire to take a good photograph the opportunity to improve their skills, consolidate their knowledge and share experience in an open and creative environment. Tutor: Bryn Davies Bryn Davies is an award winning Fine Art Photographer, accredited by the British Institute of Professional Photography and current Photographer of the Year. Based locally, Bryn has exhibited internationally and contributed to Liverpool festivals such as LOOK/15 and the Independents Biennial in 2012. Dates: Spring Session 2016, Tuesday evenings from 6-8pm 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st May, 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th June,  5th July    Venue: Ness Gardens, Neston Road, CH64 4AY Cost:  £175 for the 10 week course. You will need to bring your own camera. It is possible to split this cost into two payments of £87.50, please call 0345 017 6660 for more details. Notes: There are a maximum of 15 places available on each session, so early booking is essential. This is because our courses have very small student numbers, and often sell-out and are unavailable to others. Therefore any cancellations may result in a place not being filled, or a course not being able to run. Cancellations are permitted up to six weeks before the start of a course, and a full refund will be issued. Refunds will not be made for cancellations less than six weeks before the start of a course. If you are unable to attend due to illness, personal or professional commitments you do not have the right to a refund.
